Actually we slow down to look at all of them. We can't tell if they're grisly until we've had a good look.

LOL! So true...Although gawking really annoys me, especially when you're trying to get somewhere and everyone slows down traffic for the dumbest things e.e

As a point of pride, I refuse to EVER slow down to look at an accident, but i am certainly gawking like crazy in snatches, or out of the corner of my eye. And, yes, it is horribly disappointing if it is not grisly.

Mother used gawk in many forms. My favorite, "What are you gawken at." It's gawking at a little faster pace.
