but srsly, it lacks subtlety of some previous ones...

You're right... Being in a good mood is not beneficial to My First Dictionary!

meaning, that you're in bad mood so much more often.. so i prefer crappy MFD than this :D

this one is a good one!

Just one word and it would be even better:

"herpes"

yeah, it would work better with a word'herpes' and a drawing as a 'hint' to understand.. :P

"Heather has nine herpes"
:-)

or a word 'souvenir' with an insunuation that it's herpes or HIV..

but you rule anyway, Ross :DD

I say! It's the best Word I've seen so far ;-)

Nine isn't a word I would expect to encounter in any dictionary... Valentine on the other hand...

I think I'm in love. No, really. IN LOVE. (not even lust)

I think it's subtle enough. Did Heather sleep with the two girls or not?

I like this one very much..., the throwaway line about the two girls made me grin hugely!

It's a good'un this time, but I'd go for a slight re-wording:

"Heather has nine valentines. one from each of the boys she has slept with this week. And both of the girls."

And I hate being a pedant, but I am one so people have to deal - shouldn't you have saved this for February?

All that aside, great work Ross. Keep it up. I'm back here everyday for the goodness!

Possible pedantry aside, I actually like that slight modification. Thanks! (And the reason I decided to let the Valentine's theme through is that I don't want to get too wrapped up in seasonal offerings... it's too much hard work!)

Better still: "And two *of* the girls."

Not only making it much clearer that she slept with the girls, but that there were others besides who just didn't bother to give her a valentine.

I agree with "p" best word so far!

And as much as I like your posts, sometimes the comments to go with it are even better

Btw thanks for the interview, it's great.

Keep up the hilarious work.

Ross, do you ever plan to create a dead tree version of this dictionary? If so, I would happily buy one. It is absolutely fantastic.

And two dogs.

I like "and two girls".
It's a twist that suggests Heather didn't know the girls fancied her too.

You should really consider starting up a shop Ross! I'd love printed cards with your captions.

Ross, the giggling joy you bring is sometimes horrifying ... I love it!

Hey people, when did this "editor" thing start? Let's not start taking Ross' talent for granted.

Ross is surely another Diblert waiting to come out
