Tweets!

Well, I’ve managed to learn the basics of blogging, Googling and Facebooking, so it was only a matter of time before I gritted my beak and started Twittering. You’re welcome to follow me as I “tweet” each day’s new word, although I’m not sure exactly why you’d want to when you could just come straight here instead. Perhaps readers could suggest some more innovative ways of embracing the Twitter/My First Dictionary experience...?

you could use twitpic, which means you'd post the picture directly to twitter... so the people who follow you there don't even have to bother coming here!

it's laziness galore!

@Maria K. It's called RSS and have been here for ages.

For me, Twitter is just a dumping place for links and short quotes/ideas and it is displayed on my blog, being totally separate from it.

But have fun experimenting.

Don't think of Twitter as a way to send broadcast messages to others. Think of it as a way to have short broadcast conversations with others. Then you'll get more out of it.

Yeah, don't waste your time.... I don't think there are any innovative ways of embracing it for a site like yours. Twitter is only useful for 'ultra live' events or information, it's not good for things like this. Stick with the blog and RSS.

On the otherhand, you can think of Twitter as free advertising...just sayin'

You should check out www.tumblr.com! It's a super-simple photoblogging site, a little like twitter except that you can actually upload pictures. It also enables users to follow you, which means that they get automatically updated every time you post something new. I think it would suit this blog nicely. :)

I agree with rambler... I think tumblr would work really well for my first dictionary! I would certainly be one to follow it :)

I think twitter is a great idea. I'll get a txt when you post a new tweet. But just txt I think wouldn't be as good. Maybe just post the word and a link to the twitpic. Blogs are great but twitter is a thing of the new and for a person who is always mobile, I don't open up my computer everyday.

I don't care wether or not you're on twitter, or facebook, or whatever social network.
As long as you offer a subscription option (call it, RSS, you infamous geek). I've just discovered your dictionnary, and it's really a lot of fun!

Twitter will help. Your content is hilarious and folks at Twitter will 'Retweet' to others, spreading the word. You may want to consider going to 'ShareThis.com'. Not to clutter your excellent site but you can put a TINY icon below each post so people can share on Twitter, Facebook, Stumble Upon.
Some Stumble Upon shares have generated me 25 thousand visits in a day!
