Every trip is a new adventure.
Adam was aware of his dad's possession, use and secret hideaway of his LSD blotters stash. There were no secrets between them. His dad, a failed alcoholic writer, took acid in the hope of enhancing his creativity but mostly to alleviate the painful cluster headaches.
Adam's novice experiment unfortunately triggered a panic attack.
Later he described his experience as such, the radiant colours, the crawling geometric patterns overlaying walls and other objects, the sense of his thoughts spiraling into themselves, a loss of a sense of identity, in other words 'ego death'.
Who new the cheap area rug in the hallway would be the cause of such a bad trip.

Though Father worries that the social workers may not believe simply tripping over a rug could cause a fractured skull and three broken ribs.
Uplifting friends, reaching out
I make new uplifting friends wherever I go and know that I am never alone. As i reach out to others they reach out to me.
Adam's injuries were caused by someone reaching out and uplifting him, then swinging him against a hard surface such as a wall or floor.
He was uplifted about seven or eight times.
His dad is influential and a Church Elder. What a careless boy to trip and fall seven or eight times.
trip (vb.) "The rug caused Adam to trip. It caused him to fall. At least, that's what Daddy will be telling the social workers.
(n.) "The social workers took a little trip with Daddy. They were snug, wrapped up in the rug."
Isn't it strange that tripping is normally harmful while going on a trip is usually for pleasure?
