I'm going to make a wild guess about the original. It's not a crash; the car is just stopped at the side of the road to change a flat tire. The telephone pole just happened to be right next to where it stopped.
There's a guy in my hometown who does this every single day for hours and hours. He's very emphatic about it, as though his is a task of utmost urgency.
