The new carpet sent Joey into shock.

Never trust a carpet that doesn't match the curtains...

I don't really believe that, but that's what my grandpa used to tell me.

Seriously.

He was sure it was the Yellow carpet,
but when they unrolled it, it was empty.
She must be in one that was sold.
One of their customers is in for quite a shock.

A-ha! Very clever. I love the post-postmodern approach. :D

The new carpet sent Joey into shock. It sent him into a state of disbelief. White? It would be extremely difficult to clean up the bloodstains afterwards.

Anything yellow would send me into shock. I blame the lack of sunshine in my city...

Great post - love the Goddess Award, congrats!

In all aspects, Joey was a self-admitted control freak, especially when it came to home decor.

Concerned friends let it be known and oh so diplomatically, that for any long term relationship to succeed, compromises had to be made.

In this spirit of team work then, Joey, with great difficulty and after a brief lecture on colour co-ordination, reluctantly allowed Brucey to venture out to pick the appropriate carpet.

Now it's all down to who/what goes and what remains, Brucey rolled into the yellow carpet? the curtains? or vice versa.

I liked Callisto's as being more in Ross's style than Ross's if you know what I mean.

Yellow? With those curtains? What the funky modern arty flat needs is dayglo green, Rupert!

Never try to ressurect a published work. The moment, when it was here, was Ross' moment. Don't belittle it with your own ghostly alternative. Give the man encouragement, tell him what you think. Bitch, moan, laugh, cry -- but never, I mean never, step into a writer's published work and presume to have something equal to say. You can't, because the moment is gone. Perfect little story, Ross.
