What on earth could the original artist have been thinking?
Perhaps having been raised on the originals of these books and 'properly' repressing how absurd I thought they were, feeds my elation at seeing them mocked unforgivingly today! Grazi!

The original text:

Because that's obviously a safety pin in her hand... no?

safety pin? what could she be doing with a safety pin?!? (though the constipated look on the dolls face might explain that)
